Hi, I’m Simone — and this is a little about me and my journey into art.

As a high school student (back in the “dark ages” 😊), I absolutely loved art and graphic design. But after finishing school in the 80s, life became busy and, like many people, I didn’t pick up a paintbrush again for decades.

That all changed at the beginning of 2025, when my thoughtful children gifted me a term of art classes. What started as a simple, beautiful gift quickly reignited a long-lost passion — and I’ve been painting ever since.

I’m incredibly grateful not only to my four amazing children, but also to the warm and welcoming environment created by Sarah and Nadee, who made that very first (and slightly nerve-wracking!) class feel so comfortable and inspiring.

Since then, I’ve grown in ways I never expected — not just in skill, but in confidence. I’ve learned to embrace experimentation, to let go of perfection, and to enjoy the process of creating, even when it involves a little trial and error along the way.

Throughout my first year, I’ve been so encouraged by the support of family, friends, and even friends of friends. What began as a personal creative outlet soon turned into something more, with people wanting to hang my work in their homes and even commissioning custom pieces inspired by their own ideas.

Custom work was incredibly daunting at first, but I’ve learned to lean into the challenge and simply “give it a go.” There may be the occasional restart (or two!), but seeing how much my clients love the finished pieces makes it all worthwhile.

One thing I’ve discovered along the way is just how hard it can be to let go of a painting. Every piece holds a little part of me — hours of thought, care, and creativity — and each one truly does take a small piece of my heart with it.

That said… my wonderfully supportive husband and I have reached a turning point — we’ve officially run out of wall space! So here we are, taking the next step and sharing my work more widely through this website, Instagram, and beyond.

I’m so excited to have you here and to share my art with you.
